There are many types of
Megayachts and Super yachts, and while no real definition between the two exists,
the main distinctions can said to be: size and price. A Megayacht is often less
than 200 feet (61 meters) and cost less than US$ 50 million. However, this attempt to definition
is not from any point a definite definition and differs depending on who
defines them.
SpecialityCruises is the project name for an envisaged series of five to seven
Megayachts to be commissioned over the next five to seven years. The yachts are
aimed for world-wide operation, including northern (very cold) and tropical
climates. The yachts are not intended to operate in icy conditions and will
therefore not be constructed as ice-breaking vessels, or to ice classification,
but shall although be constructed to be able to withstand light icy conditions,
or day-old
ice up to 50 mm (2 inches) thick.
The yachts are to be built to high mechanical standards, especially with regard
to sea-worthiness and with the ability to withstand high seas and foul weather
in its truest sense, such as hurricane force winds and 20-foot plus breaking
seas, or state 5. Even though no operation purposely will be planned for this
type of foul weather conditions, the possibility of such conditions always exist
and can come upon any vessel at short notice.
The Megayacht will be designed by some of the best known and appreciated naval
architects and built by recognized and well regarded yard(s), to ABS (American
Bureau of Shipping / Lloyd's (Lloyd's register of Shipping) and full MCA
(Maritime and Coastguard Agency) specifications, not only ensuring the
future value of the yacht, but to ensure the safest possible operation of the yacht for
guests and crew.

A Megayacht is either a large boat, or a small ship, depending on how one looks
at it. Some call them floating villas or palaces.
In our world, and we are experienced large yacht yachtsmen, a Megayacht
represents the ultimate experience in relaxation, luxurious comforts and
environment, that most people want to become accustomed to.
